After making a name for himself in record time on the caen electro scene, Superpoze (Gabriel Legeleux by day) raced through the stages at lightning speed; A live tour that saw him appearing at top festivals (from France’s Transmusicales to the Montreux Jazz Festival), DJ sets that took him all over Europe, two eps released on his own combien mille records label, an EP and tour with his group Kuage, a joint venture with his Friends two and a maxi with Kitsuné.
All of this furious activity has led to a concise, homogenous, and infinitely eclectic sound. His album 'opening' is something of a revolution in the “Superpoze sound”, less affiliated to the history of Beatmaking (a genre important to him for so many years), the record explores virgin territory with its very moving, personal electro, focusing on melody as never before.
Damián Romero, internationally sough-after DJ, producer and creative director, has been committed to the promotion of contemporary music and the digital arts in Mexico for more than a decade.
In 2003 Damian has given life to MUTEK MX, an international festival of digital creativity, positioning it as a unique and high profile platform focused on cultural innovation. At burning man Festival, he headed the musical curation for the mayan Warrior art car.
Damián currently leads his firm 'imeca,' an international platform for collective creation of technological arts, the graphic universe and sound innovation. He has also presented international projects in China, Japan, Canada, the USA, Germany, Argentina, and Chile.
Baby Vulture’s installation and performance for Aki Aora approached complex topics as an analogy of death & rebirth and the duality that occurs in people’s perceptions such as our polluted ocean.
Inspired by her research of the natural environment of Tulum and the Mayan mythological stories of two Heroic Twins: Hunahpu (Junajpu) and Xbalanque (Xb’alanke) with their self-sacrifice in the underworld. The artist created a large scale ‘Nicho’ and moved her atelier inside this transparent souvenir box, where she performed on the last day of the exhibition, transforming found plastic objects from Tulum’s beach into souvenirs visitors were welcomed to take with them.
