Nika Chilewich


Nika Chilewich is a curator and arts writer from Los Angeles who lives and works in Mexico City. She holds a B.A. in Latin American Literature from Bard College in New York, and a Masters in Art History and Curatorial Studies from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, UNAM, where her thesis The Role of Authorship in Fernando Palma’s Meteorological Serpent received honorable mention.

Her curatorial works includes Sabroso Veneno by Radamés ‘Juni’ Figueroa and Discovery by Casey Jane Ellison at Anonymous Gallery in 2017, The City is Out There at the Tlatelolco University Cultural Center in Mexico City, 2016-2017, and Juan Acha: Por una Nueva Problemática Artística with Los Yacuzis at the Modern Art Museum of Mexico, MAM, 2016-2017.

Her writing has appeared in Excelsior Newspaper, Terremoto, and Vice ID. She is a founder and co-editor of Erizo: A Journal of the Arts, a bilingual journal of poetry and art from the Americas published annually.

She is a member of the subcritical studies collective Los Yacuzis since February, 2016.
